I’ll be honest with you. I love Sandusky.
I know Marion is home, and nobody loves this town more than I do. But there’s something about heading up to the lake in the summer that just does something for the soul. The water, the energy, and the people all fill my cup. Sandusky has its own thing going on, and the more time I’ve spent there, the more I’ve fallen for it.
The small business owners up there are some of my favorite people. The folks running the restaurants, the shops, the little spots you stumble into and end up staying way too long. There’s a pride in that community that feels familiar. It reminds me a lot of what we’re building here in downtown Marion. It’s obvious that Sandusky people care deeply about where they live and what they’re creating.
So, when we had the opportunity to launch an Airbnb there, it felt right. Our place is bright, modern, and comfortable, with Lake Erie right outside your window. Enjoy sunrises over the water and sunsets that make you take a deep breath and forget about your worries. The Jet Express ferry is steps away, so if Cedar Point is on the agenda, it’s a 10-minute boat ride…no need to fight traffic or pay for parking. If a slower day on Put-in-Bay or Kelleys Island sounds better, that works too. Hop on the Jet Express, rent a golf cart, find a patio with a cold drink, and call it a perfect afternoon with people you love.
Downtown Sandusky is absolutely worth exploring on foot. Great food, great drinks, the waterfront boardwalk, live music and events on Jackson Street Pier, and enough to keep you busy without ever feeling rushed. It’s the kind of place that surprises people who haven’t been in a while.
And here’s the best part. It’s all still Ohio. You don’t need a plane ticket or a long drive to feel like you actually got away. Just 90 minutes up the road and you’re in a completely different world.
When you’re ready to book, do it directly through our link below for the best rates. We’d love to host you this summer. By the way, it’s 2 bedrooms, 2 full baths, and a pull-out couch, sleeping up to 7, with a stocked kitchen if homecooked meals on the patio overlooking the lake is more your thing. But don’t wait…prime dates are filling up!

Summer vacay, not so far away.
You’ve heard me say I love Sandusky, and plenty of other small towns too. But honestly, most of them don’t hold a candle to the retail scene we have right here in downtown Marion. Home decor, specialty gifts, gourmet foods, great clothes, unique toys, books, games, pet supplies, comic books, collectibles, fidgets, and candy. The variety is genuinely impressive, and it’s all within a few walkable blocks!
We’ve shared a lot lately about the new restaurants coming to downtown, and the new options are worth getting excited about! But if you haven’t taken time to explore the shops lately, you are missing out. Come see what’s here, and what’s new for spring. Grab a coffee or a Whitser, bring a friend, and just wander. You might be surprised how much there is to discover right here in your own backyard.
Better Together,
