Our downtown has put together a packed weekend full of festivities! It never ceases to amaze me how much there is to do right in our town. Our business owners have brainstormed, crafted, shopped, set up, and cultivated a spectacular series of events for the community. Tis the season when the events, the fun, and the extra reasons to come downtown are varied and plentiful! And don’t forget, when you spend your dollars with the friends and neighbors who run our local small businesses, you are doing more than helping someone build a dream. You are helping shape our community into a place we can all be proud of, one that draws visitors from near and far and makes room for even more local businesses down the road.
We are also right at the precipice of the holiday season, and I know our retailers and restaurants have been working so hard to be ready for your shopping, corporate gifting, and holiday parties. I challenge you to consider how you might do just a bit more to enjoy and support downtown as part of your personal and business festivities.
With last week’s announcement about the another revitalization project we are planning, I am reminded how much of a community effort these past 8 years have been. It was October of 2018 when we announced Main Street Reimagined, which means we are hitting the eight year mark this very month. What a journey it has been, carried out in service of, and in partnership with, the Marion community, to build a downtown that belongs to all of us. Thanks for showing up, and for continuing to do so!
