We’ve had a lot of life and a lot of love over the course of the past month or so for our team. Most recently, our Marketing Manager Sara got married. She celebrated with an intimate wedding that was almost 2 years in the making and a honeymoon to Barbados. She put her knowledge of Canva to good use with designing her signage and programs. All her work here at HDG just led to the most spectacular cat signature drinks and snack signs you’ve ever seen. The wedding looked beautiful and most importantly, Sara looked very happy with her now husband.
Earlier in September our Property Manager Courtney welcomed a baby boy and gained mom status. She’s been soaking up the past month and a half with her newborn, learning all the tricks of a new parent, I’m sure. We’re so happy for her and her family, but we are also excited to welcome her back in the near future. Her knowledge and energy have been sorely missed in our meetings and everyday talks.
What an exciting month for the team! More to love and more to celebrate as we head into the busy holiday season.
A personal note from Sara: Hi everyone! I had such a blast at my wedding and on my honeymoon. Everything was truly a dream. I wanted to give a shoutout to my Marion people that helped me prep for this wedding. In case anyone here needed some recommendations for a big event coming up or were just nosey, this is who I went to so I could look and feel my best!
Facials- Amanda Renee Esthetics. Amanda is amazing! She really helped prep my skin not only for my wedding but for my week and a half honeymoon afterwards where I wore little makeup and just glowed. I highly recommend her for any events or just solid skin care! She helped me feel so confident in my skin on the biggest day of my life.
Wax/Eyelashes- Beyond Beauty Lounge with Haylee! Haylee is also insanely talented and a wonderful person during the trying times of these services. I did an eyelash lift and tint that made it to where most days I was makeup free at our resort and on excursions. I felt like I could wake up and run out the door looking good!
Nails- Suite 93/ Manicured by Meadows. Valerie is such a talented nail tech. I’ve never worn acrylics and she made them look so natural and pretty, detailing with pearlescent polish and French tips. I did not know who to turn to for getting my wedding nails done but I’m so glad I put my trust in her. They looked so good and Valerie is so nice to talk to while getting them done!
I’m very thankful there are so many talented and warm people in the Marion community I’ve gotten to know. I was able to have such a personalized experience and feel very cared for rather than going to huge Columbus businesses for any wedding prep. It’s made prepping for such a huge event incredibly easy and even fun. We love having beauty queens downtown!
Wedding season is in full swing! If you or someone you know is getting married at The Brickyard, Urban501, or in the surrounding area, send them to our luxuriously updated lofts! It’s the perfect wedding stay, only steps away from two venues downtown! No need to drive; park your car and forget about it. You’re here to celebrate harder for longer. Book with us and pop the champagne; your wedding weekend just got so much better.

Book direct and avoid fees!
A wedding and a new baby in the same month is a lot of joy for one small team to hold, and I feel lucky to be in the middle of it. Sara even brought her HDG design eye to her own big day, down to the signage and those signature drink signs, which tells you how much heart she puts into everything she touches. Knowing that she married the person she loves, and watching Courtney step into motherhood, have been bright spots of my September.
There is one detail in Sara’s note that I keep coming back to. For the biggest day of her life, she did not drive to Columbus. She trusted our own downtown friends, Amanda, Haylee, and Valerie, to help her look and feel her best. That is the whole point of what we are building here. When a place has the talent and care to carry someone through their wedding week, you know it has grown into a true community. Sara living that out means more to me than any promo we could write.
We are heading into our busy season a little fuller than we started, with a new husband, a new baby, and a team that knows how to still get business done in the meantime. I also have to shout out our newest team member, Sara S. (yes, we have two Sara’s now), who started with us just as Courtney went on maternity leave, and has gotten up to speed quickly and worked so hard. And also Carrie, Cole, and Kenny (we also love alliteration) who have helped carry the load!
Congrats to our team. I am grateful every day to get to do this work next to people I care about very much.
Better Together,
Luke Henry Col 3:23
